Sentinel Ministries is governed by a board of directors comprised of men and women with a wide array of university-level education and real-world experience. From seminary-trained pastors to successful entrepreneurs and philanthropists, highly-skilled accountants of privately-owned and publicly-traded companies to hard-working business managers, our leadership brings much to the table in wisdom, passion, and integrity.
Most of all, we’re bound together by three common values:
● A deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ & His Kingdom…
● An unwavering trust in God’s Word—the Bible, and…
● A burning desire to see Him impact the world.
To serve as a director, individuals must meet the criteria for church leaders related in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9. Terms of service last for two years, may be extended until a successor is elected, and are staggered so that half the number of directors end their terms in any given year.
President, Author, Teacher, & Staff Member
Duncan is a founding board member, Sentinel president, and bestselling author of The Soldier Code. He provides leadership to Sentinel’s board of directors, oversees ministry activities and programs, and leads our teaching and curriculum/content writing. In 1993, he married Ralana—the love of his life. Together they have two grown daughters, one son-in-love, and the most beautiful grandson in the world. While he has enjoyed a successful voice acting career with over 300 industry credits, including voices like Barney the Dinosaur and Chuck E. Cheese, Duncan’s first love remains Jesus. As Sentinel president, he brings a diverse background to the job spanning thirty years, ministering across denomination lines, and wearing almost every pastoral hat in the local church, including kids, men, interim worship, creative arts, college & career, small groups, and families. He also designed and led ministry events for men and women at the Quest Life. Duncan studied Bible & Theology at Tyndale Theological Seminary and American History at Arizona State University. His mission is to share Christ’s Gospel, and equip Christians for the ancient war in the modern age.
Vice President & Treasurer
Ralana is a founding board member, Sentinel vice president, and ministry treasurer. After marrying Duncan in 1993, she completed her Master’s in Accounting & Financial Management from Keller Graduate School and has since built a successful and extensive accounting career from construction to non-profits, private equity to retail. Her knowledge and expertise remain instrumental in Sentinel’s non-profit financial planning, systems and presentation, budgeting and cash, and project management. Ralana adores hanging out with her two daughters, sipping coffee with a friend, or baby-sitting her grandson while mommy and daddy have a date night. She also loves singing, worship, crafting, event planning, and projects of all kinds. Regardless of occupation, Ralana believes every true Christian is in full-time ministry, and her passion is seeing believers walk out their calling and fulfill God’s purposes in their lives.
Hershel is a founding board member and serves as Sentinel secretary, providing the board with godly wisdom to steer, manage, and ensure the non-profit’s compliance with all statutory regulations. Hershel holds a Bachelor of Science in General Business from the University of North Texas and runs a successful equestrian business—Selah Performance Horses. His bigger passion, though, is “Dad”. That’s what he calls his Lord and Savior, whom he pursues with passion and diligence. Hershel has been leading and serving on ministry events with Duncan since 2005 and is an ordained minister with the Quest Life. In 1986, he married his loving bride, Shannon. She blessed him with two incredible daughters who have blessed them with four amazing grandchildren. Hershel’s passion is to see people walk closely with “Dad” and hear His voice.
Board Member & Webmaster
Craig is a charter member of Sentinel’s board of directors and serves as our webmaster. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he has served on church staffs in North Central Texas for over twenty years and currently pastors a local church in Weatherford, Texas. He and his wife Amy married in 1988, and have two adult children passionately pursuing their callings. Craig’s pastoral heart, analytical mind, full-circle thinking, and strong theological framework bring a strong bulwark to Sentinel leadership. He is also a dear friend to Duncan of over thirty years. His vision is helping Christians connect and build up their walks, lives, and families with God through His Word. As part of that calling he also publishes a daily devotional blog at Psalm34-8.com.
A charter member of Sentinel’s board of directors, Tamyra is a dynamic combination of wisdom, discernment, and passion. She holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, and over the past thirty years God has used her broad skill and gift sets in multiple career fields. Currently, she owns and operates a construction business with her husband, Glenn. As a wife and mother of two adult children, she loves all things “family”. She values time with true friends, all forms of Christian worship, creating a peaceful home, and a good book on a beach. Tamyra met Duncan and Ralana through the Quest Life, where she served as director of women’s ministry. Her vision is to build up Christ’s Body by equipping saints to live in the most practical and biblical of ways possible.
