HE CAN. HE WILL. BUT EVEN IF HE DOESN’T…
“If that is the case, our God whom we serve can deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He doesn’t, let it be known to you, O king: We will never serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” — Daniel 3:17-18
God never promised His people an easy way. In fact, His Word warns of the exact opposite. What He did promise, though, is that we’d never face the fire alone. Isaiah 43:2’s promise to ancient Israel remains just as real and relevant to believers today as it was 2,800 years ago:
“I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you.”
Throughout the Bible, God repeats five of the most important words we’ll ever hear: “I will be with you!” Aside from His own mighty presence, another of way He fulfills this promise is spiritual family.
